Characteristic stone barn that was converted into a comfortable house a few years ago by the current owners. Built on the side of a hill, the barn offers a beautiful view over the Chianti countryside. The town of Quercegrossa with shops and facilities is at 4.6 kms, Castellina in Chianti is at 8.5 kms, and Siena is at 11.5 kms. The barn is surrounded by its own private grounds and has a private parking area. Within walking distance is a hotel with restaurant. As the barn follows the contour of the hill, it has several levels and offers different private terraces and garden areas on the outside. As you approach the house from the driveway, you reach a spacious upper terrace which has panoramic arched glass windows opening into one of the bedrooms.

Main private entrance, however, is at the side of the barn from the sidewalk that leads down from the upper terrace to the lower terrace. Entrance is down two steps into a spacious hall that is at the center of the house. To the left are two doors. One is to a utilities room where the garden furniture is kept and the second is to the spacious, complete bathroom with shower stall, WC, and washbasin. In the utilities room there is an extra and quite comfortable folding bed that can be placed inside one of the bedrooms in case the house is booked by 5 persons.

To the right of the entrance hall, down two steps and through a beautiful stone and brick arch is the living/dining room with fireplace. On the left side of the room is the fitted kitchen which is complete with gas range, electric oven and fridge with freezer. This room is luminous because there are panoramic glass doors opening onto the lower terrace. This terrace is ideal for eating out while enjoying the countryside. It is equipped with table, barbecue and large sun umbrella. As mentioned before, this terrace connects via a sidewalk to the upper terrace.

Back in the entrance hall, next to the door to the bathroom is a staircase that, after a few steps, divides into two separate sections. The stairs on the right lead to the door opening into the spacious double bedroom with panoramic windows. The stairs on the left lead up to a gallery/sitting room. A door in the sitting room opens into a spacious double bedroom. This bedroom has panoramic glass doors that open onto the upper terrace. The bed in this room can be divided into twin beds on request.

The house is very comfortably furnished in good taste and combines modern comfort with antique Tuscan pieces. The barn has been restored maintaining the typically Tuscan architectural dictates intact - it has woodbeamed ceilings, cotto floors and whitewashed walls. There is a telephone for guest use and maid service is available on request. The barn has central gas heating that costs Euro 80 per week during heating season. Firewood is payable on consumption. There is a baby cot available. Small domestic animals are allowed. There is a USB internet key provided for free guest use. If you wish to use it, you will be asked for an additional damages deposit of 160 euros.
