FRATI - Two apartments obtained from the restoration of a barn built on the side of a hill, just 1 km from the town of Castellina in Chianti with all shops, restaurants and facilities. The access dirt road measures 350 meters and is in good condition. Siena is at 20 kms and Firenze is at 35 kms. The strategic location of the estate allows excursions throughout the Chianti region to visit the numerous famous sites and the lesser known places of interest. San Gimignano is only 30 kms away and Arezzo, Montepulciano, Montalcino and Pienza are all within easy reach. The thermal spas of the Siena region that are becoming ever so popular are worth mentioning, and all within an easy drive from the estate: San Casciano dei Bagni, Bagno Vignoni, Rapolano Terme, San Filippo - all in operation since Roman times and worth day trips. The structure is part of a 24 hectare agricultural estate that cultivates vineyards and olive groves, and wine and extra virgin olive oil are available for purchase from the owners who occupy a separate farmhouse located about 35 meters below the barn which guarantees guests and owners their own privacy. The origins of the property date back through the centuries and it was initially occupied by the Monks of Vallombrosa as one of their agricultural concerns. At the end of the guest access to the structure and on the same level is a covered parking area for three cars. From the parking area, on the same level is access to the terrace in front of apartment Frati 1. A series of short ramps of stairs cut into the side of the hill lead from the parking area to the upper level terrace which provides access to apartment Frati 2. Continuing past the terrace, another set of steps leads up to the above-ground swimming pool with view that spaces over the entire countryside. The pool is 11.20 meters long, 4.80 meters wide, and 1.50 meters deep. It is surrounded by furnished terraces for the guests to use and these spaces are hidden by shrubbery and bushes in order to provide guests with privacy. The pool is for exclusive guest use and shared by the two apartments. As the apartments are connected also internally and can be put into communication together by simply opening a door, they are ideal for booking by a family or a group of friends. Below the barn and separated from it is a covered area for shared use by the guests that hosts a barbecue, tables and chairs. The apartments are equipped with central gas heating and heating costs Euros 20 per day for Frati 1 and Euros 10 per day for Frati 2 during heating season. Both apartments are equipped with national TV. There is a baby cot. There is a separate laundry room to which guests have access and it is at the base of the stairs leading up to the pool on the side of the structure where Frati 1’s master bedroom door to the outside is located: on the opposite side of the building with respect to the parking area.
