The village of Casalguidi with shop and public tennis is at 3 kms, Cantagrillo with a very good Restaurant, and San Baronto are also at about 4 kms. Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci is at 6 kms. An 18-hole golf course with Restaurant is at about 3 kms at Pievaccia. Pistoia is at 9 kms, Montecatini Terme with its renowned Spa is at 10 kms, Firenze at 25 kms, Lucca is at 30 kms and Pisa at 50 kms, as are the beaches of the famous Versilia. Just inside the access gate is a parking area for all the apartments. From here, the guests of apartments Cino and Fabio, can reach the terraces of their apartments by way of short uphill ramps. Aldo and Oratorio are at ground floor and are reached from the parking area straight through the open courtyard. A discount is offered for those who book apts Aldo and Oratorio together. The apartment terraces are all connected by external stairs in case they are booked together. The pool also has private accesses from each apartment. There is central gas heating, and gas is payable on consumption together with firewood during heating season. The apartments are very comfortably furnished and luminous, with particular care taken in the kitchens: the owners are gourmet cooks and meet often during the winter to have cooking parties. They belong to different generations, but culinary skills bring them together in perfect harmony. They are all related and very friendly and helpful with tips and suggestions. The apartments have washing machines, satellite TV with DVD, a baby cot, and videophones connected to the entrance gate. Once a week, a free winetasting for guests is organised in a farm at 2 kms from Podere La Costa.
